Accessible Shower

Safe at Home

For an elderly lady, staying in her home of more than 50 years was important. But lifting her in and out of a tub was difficult and dangerous.

In the existing ground floor bathroom, Servisol removed an old leaking shower and used the same space to create a two-sided ramp for a roll-in shower spacious enough for assisted living. To make the entire bathroom water-friendly, Servisol's licensed plumber went to great lengths to construct a floor drain which captures and drains water from the whole room. Water proofing included installation of cement board, shower pan and a Schluter membrane system before professionally installing tiles to the walls and floor.

Working carefully so the existing toilet and vanity were undisturbed, they even saved the existing wallpaper. Servisol finished the job with the installation of a new shower control and adjustable faucet, safety grab bars, and a curved curtain rail.

"Servisol made it much easier and safer to stay in my home," Mrs. B.
